Name is Neatest!

“Your name should be the neatest thing on the page!” 

I heard the words come out of my mouth and when she looked at me puzzled I told her why. 

You write it every day! 

It goes on everything you create! 

Your name should be neat! 

Not just for the sake of being neat, but because it shows a sense of pride. 

Taking pride in their work is a concept that 5,6 and 7 year olds need to be shown the importance of. 

They need to be reminded. 

They need to be shown that neatness matters - not just because it looks good. 

But because it FEELS good to feel proud!!

Your name should be the neatest thing on the page! 

Every time! 

And from there, the handwriting across the page begins to be more and more neat. 

That sense of pride - 

Sense of ownership -

Sense of confidence begins to build. 

And it starts with their name - 

Properly formed letters - 

Letters sitting on the line -

Neat, proud, confident!

And it starts with a beautiful name!
